Response Mailer Tutorial - Importing prospects from Excel, TAB or CSV file
Prospect Import
This tutorial walks you through the steps to import prospect information for an MS Excel spreadsheet, comma separated value file or tab delimited file.
Once the information has been imported into ResponseMailer these prospect will being receiving respondences based on the delivery schedule of the message in the campaign.

Step 1: Create Tab-delimited file using Excel
Skip this step if you alread have a tab delimited or CSV file with the information
Open the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that has the prospect information.
From the main menu choose File / Save As.
Change the Save as type to Text (Tab delimited) (*.txt). You can use the default file name of enter a different one. Click Save to save the file to your computer.
Click Ok, then Click Yes.
Now exit the MS Excel application. If you are asked to save the information then choose Cancel.

Step 2: Creating a Prospect List
Skip this step if you alread have a tab delimited or CSV file with the information
Use your favourite text editor to create a
list of prospect.
You will need 2 columns to store the information. The first column stores the
email address and the second one stores the name. Use a single tab to seperate each column.
For example:
Name Email
Billy Bob bill@yourdomain.com
Paul Brown, jr paul@yourdomain.com

Step 3: Import your Prospects
Choose option “Prospect Manager” from the “Tools” menu.
Step 4: Select the prospect leads file
The following screen will be displayed.

Select the follow-up responder that you want to add these prospects to.
Select the text file with the list of email addresses.
Check the 'First line contains the header text' box.
Map Full Name to <Column 1> and Prospect Email to <Column2>
Click the "Start
Import" button.
The following screen will be displayed indicating how many email address were imported.


Step 5: Verify
Your drip marketing mailer is now ready to start the email marketing
campaign with the new names.

Delimited text is a simple file format that consists of text separated into meaningful data with specific characters. The data chunks of text are usually individual fields. The specific character is called a delimiter, and can be any character that is not found in the text, such as comma or tab. If the delimiter is used as a character in the text, it must be enclosed by a pair of text qualifiers, usually double quotation marks.
