Response Mailer Tutorial - Newsletter Sign up Management

This tutorial walks you through the steps to setup Response Mailer to do the following tasks:
- Setup your list of newsletters
- Import the addresses of people who sign up to your newsletter list
- Keeps track of the date they signed up and email them newsletters according to that date. For example
Person 1 signs up on July 1 and gets Newsletter #1. A month later he's get Newsletter #2. The following month he's get Newsletter #3
Person 2 signs up on September 1, while person 1 is already on Newsletter #3, person 2 is just getting Newsletter #1?
- Stop sending newletters to anyone who unsubscribes
Before you proceed you will need to read and setup the followup autoresponder for Newsletter signup : subscriber opt-in tutorial. Once you have it working you can continue with this tutorial.

Step 1: Edit the Followup Responder
Select the appropriate Followup responder and choose option “Edit item” from the “Edit” menu.


Step 2: Setup your list of newsletters
Select the Message tab.
You can add more newsletters by
clicking the "New Message" button and entering the required information.
Once you have the list of newsletter you can set the order of the message delivery by moving messages up or down.

To correctly deliver the messages, you must place the messages in the proper order and specify the delay time for each message.
Note: Message will be sent when the time period has elasped since the delivery of the last message to the prospect.
Here's an example of how you could you set up your newsletter:
- 0 Hour: The recipient signs up and immediately receives newsletter #1.
- 1 Month: 1 month after the recipient signs up, newsletter #2.
- 1 Month: 2 months after the recipient sign up, newsletter #3.
- 1 Month: 3 months after the recipient sign-up, newsletter #4.
- 2 weeks: 3 1/2 months after the recipient sign up, send the recipient instructions on ordering your product.
- 2 weeks: 4 months after the recipient signup, news letter #5.
- 1 Month: 5 months after the recipient sign-up, newsletter #6.
Step 3: Opt-in / Opt-out
Setup the conditions and actions to add or remove subscribers from emails.
Check the 'Prospect Opt-in' box and click the 'Add Prospect' button to automate the adding of new prospects.
Check the 'Prospect Opt-out' box and click the 'Remove Prospect' button to automate the unsubscribing of existing prospects.

Step 4: Verify
Use your email program to send a test message.
Right-click this Auto reply and select Receive/Send
from the menu. This will allow ResponseMailer to immediately check your
mailbox.
Note: that the program will automatically scan your inbox for new
message and send the autoreply, but since we want immediate results we
are manually activating the Receive/Send operation.
Check the recipient mailbox for the auto response email.
Check the follow-up responder prospect database for the new subscriber.
Repeat these step to check the unsubscribing from the newsletter.
Once you have it working you can edit the responder to add additional
filters, extractors and actions.
If you need to send an out of sequence e-mail to all your subscribers then you can always use the e-mail broadcast responder.
