Followup Mailer Tutorial - Setup a drip marketing campaign

Drip Marketing Outline
This tutorial walks you through the steps to setup Followup Mailer to send several promotional pieces to current and potential clients.
Drip Marketing - a direct marketing strategy involves sending out a number of promotional pieces over a period of time to a subset of sales leads.


Step 1: Create a Followup Responder
Choose option “New Responder” from the “File” menu.



Step 2: Create a New Autoresponder
The following screen will be displayed.

Choose “Followup Autorespnder" and click on the “Start” button.

Step 3: Select Followup Autoresponder
The following screen will be displayed.

Choose “Followup Autorespnder" and click on the “Start” button.

Step 4: Create your messages
The following screen will be displayed.


Enter a title for your drip marketing campaign.
Click the "Add" button and add your first message.
Click the "Add" button to add additional messages and click the "Next" button when done.


Step 5: Opt-in / Opt-out
The following screen will be displayed.

For this marketing campaign we will not be using the opt-in / opt-out feature so click the "Next" button.

Step 6: Prospects list
The following screen will be displayed.

For this marketing campaign we will import our prospects so click the "Next" button.

Step 7: Create a Prospect List
Use you favourite text editor or spreadsheet program like Excel to create a list of prospect.
You will need 2 columns to store the information. The first column stores the email address and the second one stores the name.
For example:
Name,Email
Billy Bob,bill@yourdomain.com
"Paul Brown, jr",paul@yourdomain.com


Step 8: Import your Prospects
Edit the responder and select the "Prospects" tab


Click the "Import" button.

Step 9: Select the leads file
The following screen will be displayed.


Select the text file with the list of email addresses and click the "Import" button.

Step 10: Verify
Your drip marketing mailer is now read to start the email marketing campaign.
