My problem is different from BillySM's post… (Authentication required error, posted at Fri Aug 4, 2006 10:50 am) but it's similar...
I have installed in my computer the “Response Mailer Standard Trial” and I was proving it with excellent results. Reviewing your website, I found out that a professional version existed and I downloaded it from your own website.
"This standard version, it needed something...", I think, and what I have walked looking for years… Nevertheless, I found it in the professional version. It is why I also downloaded it and I could prove the options that the standard version did not have.
Well, after setup POP3 and SMTP accounts equally since I did it with the standard version (with excelent results), it happened that when doing a test of the outgoing and incoming servers, gave me an error of this type in the SMTP server (considering whom the same configuration WORKS with the standard version):
SMTP Message (after the test):
-----------------------------------
Error: An error occurred sending the message, Error:80040211
Description:535 5.7.0 authentication failed [_^‹Ý]‹MU‹ë�ù]
Please check your that your SMTP Server, Login name, Password and Port are correct.

What happened with this SMTP error in the profesional version? The same configuration was setting up in the standard version and worked very well...!
Please, I want and I need to buy your professional version software, but I am being delayed in doing it by this error, since I have not been able to prove the program correctly. I need the security that all the options will work well and that I will not have problems. Do you understand me? Thanks a lot...
I will be thankful, can respond to me much to the brevity and know what it happens or it's a program problem (I'm sure that this is not). I'm waiting for your answer as soon as possible and your solutions.

I would like to get some more information on the setup of both programs to aid me in quickly fixing the problem.
I will need some additional information from you though. Can you send screen shots of the email account screens? I will need to see the General, Outgoing Server and Advanced tab.
Use the following procedure, http://www.devicode.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=103, to get the screen shots.
Do the screen shots of the Standard version and then repeat it for the Professional version. Save all the Std screen shot in one file and the Pro in another file. Also include a screen shot of the error message.
Also verify that the following information is correct:
1. The incoming and outgoing server information
2. Account name and password information. Remember to type the password using the correct letter case.
3. If your outgoing server requires authentication then you will have to check the appropriate box.
4. For most mail account the POP3 port number is 110 and SMTP is 25. Check with your ISP for the correct port numbers.
5. Most mail account don't require SSL connection and therefore it shoud be unchecked. Check with your ISP for this information. If you are use SSL you also need to enter the correct port numbers.
6. Increase the server time out to at least 2 minutes.
Please send the screen shots to and also verify the above information. Once I receive your email I will be able to fix the problem. |

Dear Devicode Team:
I write you again to thank for the sent mail last Friday. After sending you my screenshots of my configuration and verifying my setup according to the suggested thing, I found the error and it did not come from the program but from one missed account of access lately changed without it has been let now to me.
After modification, it was possible to be authenticated perfectly and the program began to work. Now I am evaluating all the options and next I will be making the purchase of the professional version.
I want to apologize by to have advanced a hurried opinion…
