How to automatically sent my responses

Will my scheduled follow up responses run automatically as long as I keep FollowupMailer running and minimized or do I have to hit the receive/send button to get it to connect to the server?

Followup Mailer will automatically check for new emails and whether follow-up messages need to be sent.

You can specify how frequent this should be done by changing the settings in the email account.
Edit the e-mail account and select the General tab.
Make sure that the 'Run Responder every' box is checked.
Enter the number of minutes or hours that must elapse before another check is done.
