ResponsEMailer requires that MDAC 2.5 or higher is installed on your system for proper operation. Depending on the version of MDAC, you may also be required to install Jet 4.0 components.

What is MDAC?
MDAC stands for Microsoft Data Access Components, or "MDAC". MDAC is a collection of system files, ActiveX components and DLLs that provide database administration and access services to Windows applications. MDAC is required by many database programs. As Microsoft released database technologies (like Jet, ODBC, RDO, ADO, etc), it became difficult for users to determine which version of each technology would work with others. To solve that problem, they released MDAC, a complete set of database files that are known to be version compatible and function as intended.

Starting with MDAC version 2.6, Microsoft changed the packaging of MDAC. Previously (in MDAC 2.5 and earlier) all required files (for Access, OLE DB and ODBC) were included in the MDAC distribution. Starting with 2.6, you must download MDAC and the Jet-OLE Engine distribution. MDAC and the Jet-OLE Engine distributions are available from the Microsoft Data site. If your computer is running Windows 2000, you already have MDAC 2.6. Note: Starting with MDAC 2.6, you must have Internet Explorer (IE) in order to install MDAC.

Windows Me/2000/XP already contain these components, but they can get broken sometimes.

Windows 98/NT 4.0 users must install MDAC completely because it is not part of the system.
