Question
I have created a responder, however, it is not filtering my emails. Is there a way for me to send you the file so that you can take a look at it and tell me what I am doing wrong?
Answer
You can send us the file that has all the information for your auto responders. This file stores the filters, extractors, actions, mailboxes, account and setting information you have setup. The file is called ResponseMailer.mdb. In additon, this file stores the password for your mailbox. There is no need for us to know your password, so before you send us the file you must save your POP3 and SMTP password to ***.
- Start Response Mailer.
- Select File/Mail Account from the main menu.
- Hightlight the first Account in the list and select Edit/Edit item from the menu.
- On the Incoming Email Server tab, if you have a password setup then change it to "***".
- Select the Outgoing Email Server tab, if you have a password setup then change it to "***".
- Click the OK button to save
- Repeat step 4 and 6 for any other Mail Account that you have setup.
- Exit Response Mailer.
- Locate the folder that Response Mailer is installed in, usaully this is c:\Program Files\ResponseMailer.
- Zip the ResponseMailer.mdb and email the zip file.
- Also forward to us a copy of a test email that should work with this responder.
Note: Response Mailer will not be able to process any emails since we have set the password to "***". In order to use the program you will have to set the POP3 and SMTP password to what it should be. After you have set the password use the "Test connection" button to verify that you can connect the mail server.
